A fine feather for hackles on large flies. Schlappen is ideal for collars on salmon and seatrout flies.
It can also be used for tails on pike flies.
Schlappen is also the right material for Poul Jorgensens Stack Wing flies.
Length of these feathers are ca.15-18 cm.
